This new hybrid online course prepares student for a professional career in Phlebotomy.
This course introduces students to the Health Care environment; educates and trains them how to properly collect high quality blood samples for laboratory analysis. The course consists of 240 hours: 80 clock hours of class and 80 hours of lab work and 80 hours of QC, Collection Equipment, Interpersonal Theory, Communications, CPC, Legal Aspects of Phlebotomy, Computers in Laboratory and Blood Banking Techniques. This course also provides performance of venipuncture in a clinical facility. Communication techniques and emergency care techniques in taking care of the patient are included in the program.
